Koalas by Sabrina

I have learned a lot about koalas. I chose them because I really like koalas. Some things I already knew are they are very furry in many places. Also, their fur is grey and white. Also, they live in Australia, and they climb a lot of trees . They live in groups.
Here are some interesting facts about what koalas look like. They grow to 2-3 feet tall. They only weigh up to 20 pounds. Their fur is usually a grey and mixture. The victoria koala can absorb heat through its fur. John Wexo wrote, “ In fact, koalas look so much like like living teddy bears that people still call them koala bears.” Also, when koalas are born they are the size of a jelly bean. The also have claws on their hands and feet.
Do you have any idea what koalas eat? Here are some things they eat. As a baby they eat pap which is a part of the mothers intestines, which is only bacteria. Aso, they drink milk too. Koalas eat leaves and other plants because they are herbivores. John Wexo wrote” Some koalas only 2 or 3 kinds of leaves.”
Do you know where koalas live? Well I am going to tell you. The continent they live in is Australia. The country they live in is Australia. Their habitat is a grassland, even though they spend most of the time in trees.
Koalas travel by walking in trees. They stay on by holding on with their claws. Also as a baby you can hold on to the mama of that baby koala. Some sounds a koala makes is a cough, grunt, or roar. Koalas travel in groups called, Phascolarctidae.
Do you know what koalas are used for? They are used for their fur. Also, a design on a tee shirt. Plus, you can see them in a zoo anywhere. Did you know that a few things are named after koalas, such as when you hang from bars a special way it is called koala hanging. Do you know any interesting facts about koalas? well I will tell you some. believe it or not koalas have a pouch. Baby koalas are not called baby koalas, they are scientifically named joeys. Koalas live up to 20 years old, and they are actually mammals. Their hands look like they have 2 thumbs and 3 fingers, and their feet look like they have bubbles where the bones go. Did you know that koalas and kangaroos are related because they both are marsupials. John Wexo wrote,” Koalas must cross ground to get to get to feeding ground.”
In conclusion, I have done a lot of research on koalas. I have learned that koalas like to eat leaves, milk, and pap. A few sounds a koala makes are grunt, roar, and cough. The habitat koalas live in is a grassland with a lot of trees because koalas climb in trees with their claws. Do you know how big a joey is, it is the size of a jelly bean!
